Faculty of Polymer Engineering

Faculty of Polymer Engineering, Sahand University of Technology, is the second independent faculty in the field of polymer in our dear country of Iran, which has been operating since 2007 by accepting master's students. Despite the short history of activity, this faculty has been able to gain a lot of fame due to its remarkable successes, so that now it is among the pioneering faculties of Sahand University of Technology in terms of student education, publication of scientific articles in international journals, patents, carrying out research projects, as well as cooperation with industrial units and It is considered a reliable research center. Currently, this faculty offers educational, research, and professional research activities in various fields of polymer engineering including processing, polymerization, color, nanotechnology, and biopolymer in undergraduate (160 students), master's (180 students), doctorate (50 students) and postdoctoral programs. and is engaged in chemical-polymer engineering. The presence of talented graduate students along with 16 faculty members (6 professors, 5 associate professors, and 5 assistant professors) mostly young, along with appropriate research equipment and facilities, has concentrated a high potential for conducting various research and projects in this faculty. In addition to educational laboratories, this faculty has a polymer materials research institute approved by the Ministry of Science (the scientific center of styrene and polystyrene of the country) and a research center for nanostructured materials.
