Kandovan Village

Kandowan is a very gorgeous natural beauty with a stunning view which is among the unique tourist attractions for its architectural design. Located within 30 kilometers of Osku, a township of many orchards and vineyards, the village offers a magnificent  spot for people of neighboring towns and even foreign tourists. The houses are literally holes in the steep rocks down the hill tops, with the depth of the holes in the pyramid-shape hills reaching 30-40 meters in some parts. A number of studies suggest that these houses are over 600 years old (since 14th century), while other studies trace their origin to pre-Islamic Iran. The mineral water in the village is popularly known as a cure for kidney diseases. During summer, the village is teeming with visitors on account of all the unique attractions.
