The office of International Affairs in the university operates under the direct management of SUT’s president. It was part of the General and International Relations office since the establishment of University in 1989 until started its independent activities from June 2019. The mission of the International Affairs is to advocate and support the University’s goal in international scientific cooperation.
The main tasks include promoting international academic collaboration, communicating with partner institutions, building the mechanism for dual degree and exchange student programs, and recruiting international students.
Being a leading technical university in the country, and aligned with the global development of science and technology, the academics and researchers of SUT have built-up numerous number of international collaboration and exchange programs with foreign accredited universities and reputed academics. In the past three years (2017-2019), SUT has endeavoured more than 40 joint research projects with European, North American, South-east Asian and Middle-Eastern universities across many disciplines and would be willing to expand these activities particularly with neighbour leading universities on internationalisation, including organising dual-degree education programs, exchange student and international internship programmes, joint research projects and hosting international scholars. SUT is very keen to work in partnership with Engineering and Science Faculties across the world for student mobility for studies and research, student mobility for traineeship, and staff mobility for teaching and research.
At our institution, Office of International Affairs coordinates visa, accommodation, residence permission, and insurance processes with relevant sectors in the University including Vice-president offices in education, research, student, and culture.
